In many poor countries, being an orphan is VERY HARD. They have no other family nearby to help them. There are not enough orphanages or foster families. The parents are dying in wars, from AIDs, or from other diseases. There isn't enough water or food for everyone to survive. Sometimes bad guys steal their homes and food. They also don't have laws or policemen to protect them. The kids try to take care of each other.
I am eight, and I can't even image my parents dying and having to take care of my three younger siblings. These kids aren't giving up. We're not going to give up either. We are going to help them as much as we can. We are the Children of Care.
Grown-ups take care of us, but there is no one to take care of the orphans. We are going to give some of our care from our parents back to those kids.
My family is safe and happy.
Children of Care is kids working to help orphans by raising money to support the Filipini orphanages around the world and by sending care packages to the Filipini convents for the kids there. The sisters who work in these orphanages are overwhelmed because there are so many orphans to care for. If your mom, dad, or guardian says yes, you can join our club. It is free. You simply agree to try to help in your own way. You can raise money or send care pacakages. Do not send money to us! Send it to the Religious Teachers Filipini - worldwide missions. Online donations and information for adults is available at www.aidsorphansrising.org .
